The following Cleantech Committee members are bringing you the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce Cleanovation Conference.
Arie Brish
Arie Brish is an accomplished energy and technology executive and entrepreneur, experienced in leading a wide variety of organizations and business deals. His business acumen includes P&L general management, funding, operations, marketing, business development, sales, turnarounds, R&D, and project management.
Mr. Brish is the president of cxo360, an energy business consulting firm.
Since 2002, cxo360 has been engaged in multiple projects in U.S, Asia, Mexico, and Israel, mainly in energy, commodities, government, and technology.
Some of his recent engagements include:
- Business development for two wind energy companies. Signed up multiple deals.
- Interim CEO of a green hi-tech firm.
- Consulting on wind turbines reliability.
- Advising an energy saving firm on setting up a distribution channel.
- Helping a utility company on storage and smart grid technologies.
- Chairman of Cleanovation 2010.
- Director of Leviathan Wind Energizer Inc.
Mr. Brish is a co-founder of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and serves on its board of directors, as well as Co-Chair of its Clean-Tech Committee. He is also a member of Renewable Energy Network, CleanTX, Energy M&A, and the Pickens Plan Groups.
Arie Brish led several mega sales and significant market share growth initiatives. He scaled controllers sales from $288M to $710M in four years (over 35% yr/yr) while advancing market share from #4 to #1.
Mr. Brish has executed multiple operational turnarounds. He led a major profit improvement project of a $200M business unit that achieved a 24% margin gain in two years. Mr. Brish also led a quality improvement effort that resulted a 90% reduction in field quality incidents.
As the CEO of Tehuti, Arie turned around the company from a very problematic incubation stage, and led it to its successful product launch and market traction, with over thirty paying customers after first year of introduction. During his first three years on the job he secured over $2M of government funding for the project, as well as over $10M of VC investment.
Over the years Mr. Brish facilitated multiple green initiatives by supplying enabling technologies to electrical vehicles, automotive emission control, smart grid, and low power infrastructure equipment.
Mr. Brish holds a BSEE from Ben Gurion University, an MBA from Recanati School of Business, Tel-Aviv University, and numerous senior leadership training programs at Motorola University.
Dana Epstein
Dana Epstein is currently the Director of Special Projects at the Jewish Community Association of Austin. Her portfolio includes overseeing Austin’s Partnership with the Western Galilee, Israel, the Young Adult Division, Leadership Development, and working with the Governance Committees. Epstein holds a Bachelors of Journalism and a Masters of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin. While working for the JCAA the past seven years, Epstein has also held positions in Cultural Arts and Jewish Education as well as the Jewish Community Relations Council and the Anti-Defamation League.
Joel Greenberg
Joel Greenberg is an interactive marketing and PR expert with a special interest in cleantech and energy. He has over twenty years experience in non-traditional media from simulations to games, from development to research, to marketing and social media. He is published in marketing, energy, and history.
He recently organized a panel discussion titled “The Electric Car Reality Check” with futurist Gary Golden and electrochemistry expert Jeremy P. Meyers. Joel appears in the independently produced documentary, Haynesville, about the Haynesville shale, potentially the largest natural gas field in the world.
He has been invited to guest lecture at The University of Texas; MIT; Stanford, and numerous interactive media conferences. He’s served on the advisory board of of conferences such as SXSW Interactive and Chaos: New Agendas in Advertising.
Joel uses his background in Social Media and PR in energy campaigns, such as a campaign for Texans for A Sound Energy Policy Alliance. He’s been using technology to communicate since before there was a QuickTime 1.0. At GSD&M, he was a Sr. Account Planner specializing in the consumer of use technology. He started GSD&M’s first blog and first podcast. He brought thought leaders such as Henry Jenkins, John Perry Barlow, The Static Revenger, and The PMS Clan, among others, to the agency to infuse a participatory media ethic throughout the agency’s work. At The Electric Sheep Company, he built an ad network for Virtual Worlds, Second Life being the first. At Human Code, he lead a team of producers to create some of the most innovative interactive marketing of the day.
Mary McKeown-Christie, MBA
As a highly accomplished marketing professional with more than thirteen years of strategic marketing, PR and communications experience, Mary has a passion for educating markets about new technologies and best practices.
She is published throughout both the real estate technology, nanotechnology and motion control markets, and enjoyed teaching Public Relations at the University of California Santa Barbara Extension program prior to her move to Texas. She is experienced in devising and executing lifecycle product marketing strategies to generate leads, qualify prospects, and increase sales, and has a proven history of developing successful online, direct, and tradeshow marketing campaigns that improve the competitive position of her clients. She holds an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix, and a BA in pre-law from University of California, Santa Barbara. She has also received several awards for leadership and exemplary service to the Santa Barbara community as Executive and Marketing Director for several local non-profit organizations.
Soon after her arrival in Austin, she formed Maven Marketing Solutions (MMS), a small Strategic Marketing & Public Relations consulting firm dedicated to helping businesses of all sizes reach their potential. Through innovative and affordable marketing and PR programs, MMS services help businesses exceed their business objectives, and build a strong foundation for continued growth.
Recently, Mary was named Communications Chair for the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) Austin Chapter, as well as Chapter lead for the Austin Texas Young Professionals LinkedIn group. She is also an active member of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce, the Austin Clean Tech Group, the Austin Young Chamber, and the Women’s Global Network (WGN).
